Before earning my editing qualifications from the University of Washington, I worked as a writer and journalist, and I still create original content and marketing copy on request. I’ve been published in many newspapers and magazines, including Slate, CNN Travel, The Seattle Times, Seattle magazine, The Stranger, and The New York Times. Many of these clips, including those from the The New York Times India Ink blog and the Seattle Weekly story about Mumbai’s first Starbucks, were published while I lived and worked in India as a freelance journalist. Others were written during my time as a magazine editor in China, where I reported on art, architecture, and Shanghai’s bustling urban scene. Yet my favorite—and most personal—clip was published in the Seattle Times Pacific NW magazine (Sunday edition) about moving back home to Seattle to find a city dramatically changed.
